IT Developer

Job Description

Delta Air Lines, Inc. has an opening for IT Developer in Atlanta, Georgia.

Develop, create, and modify computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints, and develop software solutions. Design, modify, or customize software to optimize operational efficiency and improve performance. Enable faster release and deployment cycles by taking advantage of Agile development methodologies, improved collaboration between business stakeholders, application development and operations teams. Modify existing software to correct errors and allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Consult with business users regarding software system design and maintenance. Analyze project data to determine specifications or requirements. Collaborate with others to determine design specifications or details, assess database performance, and prepare data for analysis.  Lead, facilitate, and coordinate synchronized releases to maximize value. Write custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services, and test cases, and write custom code or scripts to do "destructive testing" to ensure adequate resiliency in production. Configure commercial off-the-shelf solutions to align with evolving business needs. Create meaningful dashboards, logging, alerting, and responses to ensure that issues are captured and addressed proactively.  Participate in deployment and configuration of the application as needed, participate in deployment meetings and consult with team to refine, test, and debug programs to meet technical needs. Understand servers and databases and related architecture requirements and ensure those requirements can be achieved and maintained through high-quality deliverables. Develop proof of concepts and propose solutions to architecture and tech leads. Support an operationally critical environment, using monitoring tools and scripts, data feeds and associated scripts, research, and analysis of production issues, capturing logging.  Assist in server patching activities, participate in application load tests and assist with troubleshooting, and troubleshoot SOA, network, WAF/firewall, load balancer, HTTP/HTTPS communication, and browser clients as it pertains to a large-scale web application environment.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering or related field and five years of experience with Information Technology.

Work experience must have included:

  • Creating scripts to automate/build infrastructure that provisions a complete environment as configuration management in cloud using Ansible, Jenkins and CloudFormation;
  • Configuration management and capacity management of applications using CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker and Ansible;
  • Administrating DevOps tools including GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, VM and developing DevOps Proof of Concepts;
  • Implementing, supporting and maintaining all network, firewall, storage, load balancers, operating systems, and HTTP/HTTPS communications;
  • Implementing CloudFormation templates to scale, provisioning AWS DevOps infrastructure in all the application environments, and migrating CICD deployments and DevOps infrastructure from on-prem to AWS cloud; and
  • Implementing one-way and two-way Secure Socket Layers (SSL) certificates for API authentications.
