Senior Business Analyst
Delta Air Lines, Inc. has an opening for Senior Business Analyst in Atlanta, GA.
Responsible for gathering, developing, coordinating, and maintaining business, functional, non-functional and technical requirements for various projects and systems from initial phase to final implementation. Ensures that requirements meet standards; troubleshoots, coordinates, and maintains production applications. Translates functional and non-functional requirements into technical requirements for developers. Works with stakeholders to identify relevant requirements and understand how those requirements fit into the broader context for the application/platform. Applies relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs. Writes technical documentation including Ops Guides, Architecture documents, and user guides, Supports the software after production deployment, including RFC deployments. Prepares specified project documentation according to IT standards. Uses SDLC and Agile methodologies in day-to-day process to develop requirements and project deliverables. Maintains communication with customer and team members and promotes a team environment. Assists in business process redesign as needed. Assists in maintenance and communication of project status reports and tracking using project management tools. Develops and executes test case to validate the system developed meets business needs. Translates planning into action by following applicable established procedures or methodologies. Priortizes work on multiple project teams, with the overall goal of satisfying all deployment needs and effectively supporting diverse clients. Proactively monitors and controls task status by collecting and analyzing task data to anticipate and address barriers. Provides direction to more junior IT personnel. 40 hours per week. Less than 5% travel to vendor locations for meetings and testing.
Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and two years of work experience in IT business analysis. Alternatively, will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and five years of experience in IT business analysis.
Must have two years of work experience with the following:
- Developing UML diagrams using MS Visio to depict system interactions and process flows;
- Utilizing HP ALM or HP Quality Center tool to manage and triage defects;
- Utilizing Agile tools including Rally or JIRA to manage the deliverables of Agile methodology including Facilitating iteration planning, preparing sprints for development team, and managing user stories and acceptance;
- Conducting Agile Delivery Methodology lifecycle, including software project reporting, management, and tracking; and
- Utilizing software testing techniques and process including back-end testing and black box testing and system integration testing to test applications.
Must have one year of work experience with IT business analysis for airline operational applications.
