Delta Air Lines, Inc. has an opening for Test Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia. Discuss business, functional and user requirements with business analysts, subject matter experts, and developers. Create test strategy, resource plan and test estimates with QA lead. Provide analysis, design, and estimation based on the task requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set priorities and project deliverables. Communicate requirement clarifications, test data requests, access and tools for testing. Develop test plans, requirement traceability matrices and test scenarios for functional, system and regression testing. Map requirements and upload test cases and scripts to HP Quality Center. Design and create test cases and test scripts based on given business requirements. Execute test cases and scripts for Sanity, functional, system, regression and end-to-end testing. Execute and perform data validation (including validation of data on the enterprise message bus, within database tables and using DBSolo to compare data across multiple databases), and functional/regression testing based on scripted test cases. Coordinate timelines, progress, and tasks and submit test data requests needed for test execution. Monitor and extract team progress, schedules, test summaries and defect reports. Document and file defects encountered during test execution using HP Quality Center. Facilitate defect triage to address defects, issues and fixes. Identify new tools to ease and simplify test execution process. Form reusable SQL queries and formulas to test data integrity and verify database contents. Facilitate test case review sessions to get/provide feedback and changes for test cases and scripts. Review, retest and close fixed defects filed on quality center. Gather information and clarify issues and questions raised by the offshore team. Delegate tasks for the offshore team to work on, according to their skill set and level of expertise. Review deliverables by offshore team prior to submission to client users/analysts/developers.

Job Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and three years of related experience.

Work experience must have included:

• Three years of experience with SQL, IBM DB2, Oracle, MySQL, and SQLServer;
• COBOL, JCL, Serena, ChangeMan, BMC Control-M, Java, ASP.NET, and XML;
• HP Quality Center, SQL Developer, and DBSolo;
• Collaboration with on/offshore teams;
• Supporting application teams and troubleshooting in a DEV, SIT, UAT, and production environment; and
• Leading and mentoring associate testers.

Must also pass standard company background check and drug test.
