Delta Air Lines Inc. has an opening for Manager Information Technology in Atlanta, Georgia.

Responsible for successful delivery of high profile projects, ensuring operational reliability of eleven applications, and leading a high performing team that includes several Agile product teams to support Delta's Global Sales organization. Supervises up to 25 Business Analysts and Developers. Responsible for Agency contract incentive systems, B2B Self-Service, and B2B Reporting application portfolios; developing, recruiting, coaching and mentoring team members to maintain a culture of high performance. Ensures our portfolio of industry leading applications stay current, relevant, and reliable for our corporate customers and travel agency partners. Collaborates with project sponsors and stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives and provide strategic and tactical IT solutions to achieve them. Balances multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, works effectively in a dynamic fast paced environment, adapts to shifting priorities, and delivers consistent results under pressure. Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; and developing solutions. Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting and planning costs, and meeting budget targets. Effectively shares and communicates ideas, both face-to-face and in writing to people at various levels within Delta IT in a clear, concise and easy-to-understand manner. 40 hours per week.  Approximately one 2-day trip every three months to Minneapolis or other Delta or vendor locations to meet with project teams.

Job Requirements

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field, and five years of work experience in application development, business analysis, or systems analysis.  Alternatively, will accept seven years of work experience in application development, business analysis, or systems analysis.

Must have five years of work experience with the following:

• IT project management; 
• leading enterprise services and globally dispersed development, IT Support, and testing teams, both onshore and offshore, for supporting and developing systems that are mission- or business-critical;
• Waterfall SDLC methodology; and
• Partnering with development and QA teams to build, test, and deliver reliable applications that meet business stakeholder needs.

 

Must have two years of work experience with:

• Agile delivery concepts frameworks and methods, including product ownership and user story definition, and mentoring and providing guidance to scrum masters to ensure effective project delivery; and
• Airline industry IT application development.
