• The Business Intelligence Data Architect owns the data modeling activities for the enterprise data warehouse and various data marts.
• This role will work with the team by applying knowledge of data warehouse design, development, and implementation concepts which include operational data stores, data marts, enterprise data warehouse (logical and physical models), and metadata management. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of building large scale data projects from the ground up.
• Identify strategy for data acquisition and archival with a focus on data quality.

• Provides expert leadership, knowledge, and mentoring in data architecture and modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling.
• Establish Logical, Physical Data Models.
• Define standards for documenting data models.
• Facilitate data modeling sessions and lead data model reviews.
• Design data integration points and conformed dimensions.
• Design and develop specifications for Source to target mapping, table/column metadata, and transformation rules.
• Perform Source system analysis and data profiling.
• Establish Technical recommendations for optimized data access and retention for the data storage
• Responsible for project estimates for areas of responsibility and for assistance with outlining required tasks for project delivery.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline with an information technology focus.
• Minimum of 10 years of full life cycle software development and implementation.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Data Modeling techniques in the deployment of an Enterprise Data Warehouse including relational database design and STAR schema design. Experience in a data warehouse/business intelligence solution environment which employs use of a major ETL tool ( Informatica or Business Objects Data Services), major RDMS (SQL Server and/or Oracle), and major BI tool such as Business Objects Enterprise or Microstrategy.
• Experience managing database model changes through environments (development, test, production).
• Experience using ERWIN or similar tool for data modeling documentation.
• Experience with SAP BI/BW and use of SAP as a data source a nice to have.
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of BI applications, system development life cycle, dynamics of software development projects, Information Technology practices and methods.
• Comfortable working with a team that is geographically dispersed and includes contractors, consultants, and some off-shore resources.
• Ability to quickly identify and analyze risks & impacts and define alternatives & prioritizations to remove roadblocks. Ability to manage multiple deliverables independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers.
• Highly motivated self-starter. Ability to act as an advisor on professional and technical issues with a view towards reaching decisions.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and global work group and to achieve results through global team efforts.
• Consistently proven ability to implement projects and contribute to concept development.
• Willingness to travel (10%)
