Sr. Process Engineer - Commercial
Sr. Process Engineers lead in the development and implementation of production/processing methods and controls in accordance with quality standards in the most cost effective manner. They work directly with manufacturing management teams to assess business needs and determine appropriate courses of action in the area of manufacturing technology requirements and/or modifications, product and process quality standards, cost control initiatives, etc. They have critical project technical leadership responsibility for key division manufacturing projects and/or initiatives that range from medium to high scope of complexity and diversity.
Mohawk is looking for Sr. Process Engineers in the following areas:
* Systems Technology - works directly with the technological functions within the Commercial Manufacturing facilities to improve process and technology
* Fabrication - Responsible for working with the tufting process reviewing current processes, assessing improvements and assisting management in implementing improvements in technology and process
* Dyeing Development - needs someone with an understanding of the process of dyeing. Will be responsible for reviewing current technology and processes, then assisting management with any new technology installations and process improvements
All three roles will be highly visible with a key impact to the bottom line of the commercial group. There could be other duties required, but not noted above.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, Knowledge and/or Specialized Training
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related discipline
* 8+ years of job specific work experience with demonstrated professional growth and achievement in an organization of comparable size and diversity
* Experience must include:
o Demonstrated experience developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex manufacturing business issues/problems
o ISO 9000 knowledge and competence
o Demonstrated project management skills and experience, which included project leadership in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines
o Demonstrated experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement involving broad-based manufacturing systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change
o Advance knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean or similar methodology, training and experience required
o Related certifications preferred
* 70% local and overnight travel required. Locations could include GA, VA, SC
