Job Summary:
The Material Handler I is responsible for various types of products, which may include roll goods, packages, cartons, palletized items, and pushing buggies of rugs. This person works very closely at the checking station with the Material Handler III employee. After the goods are checked, the Material Handler I packages the order carefully to prevent breakage or damage during shipping or receiving.
A Material Handler I is expected to maintain all housekeeping items and follow all housekeeping procedures associated with the position and other various job duties assigned by the supervisor. Individuals in this position are expected to maintain an orderly work environment, follow safety procedures properly, and conform to safe work practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Knowledge of the stretch wrapping equipment
* Ability to read and write
* Good attendance record
* Demonstrated good communication skills
* Self motivated
* Data entry experience
* Lift truck experience
* Able to lift or move heavy objects up to 50lbs
