Director, Shared Services

Major Functions and Scope:
* Direct the shared services department by applying good management and people skills to provide necessary controls, direction and discipline to insure efficient department operation.
* Provide leadership and direction to individuals and teams and become actively involved in staff development.
* Implement industry-wide best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of operations
* Develop, communicate, maintain and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to Shared Services functions and SOX controls.
* Investigate and maintain knowledge of current trends in Shared Services
* Develop business cases and savings targets for all shared services initiatives
* Drive continuous process improvements and innovations in partnership with key stakeholders
* Serve as the liaison between internal business owners and the shared service center
* Act as a change agent and work from a creative mindset
* Partner with financial management to create the Shared Services vision and philosophy
* Manage relationships with travel and credit card vendors (Delta, AVIS, American Express, etc.)
* Oversee related projects as assigned, including integration of potential acquisitions and other function.

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Education and Knowledge:
* BS/BA Accounting. Masters degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
* CPA/CMA preferred
* 10-15 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* 5+ years experience in a leadership/management capacity
* Experience with a shared-services implementation preferred
* Superior leadership skills including strong interpersonal and team development
* Demonstrated ability to bring together cross-functional teams to accomplish common goals.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines, working with direct and indirect influences
* Proven ability to eliminate non-value added work through establishment of processes and metrics to drive improvement
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate to all levels within the organization
* Demonstrated expertise in a variety of concepts, practices and procedures
* Quantitative and qualitative analytical problem solving skills
* High integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to think creatively

A staff of 50-60 management, professional and nonexempt employees
