Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with the timely and accurate reconciliation of business units general ledger accounts. This includes but is not limited to:
o Review and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
o Review and analyze system generated accounting reports to identify account discrepancies and/or variances
o Work with the appropriate team member, department or account representative to research inaccurate or questionable data, account discrepancies and variances
o Provide direction and/or takes necessary action to resolve issues
o Analyze system transactions for accuracy or fraudulent activity, prepare explanations for unresolved issues, and keep management informed accordingly
* Assist with the preparation of financial and inventory reports, budget and manufacturing performance analysis and other trend analysis reports. Assist with the analysis of actual performance against projected performance, work with appropriate business unit representative to research and confirm results and prepare explanations for management reporting
* Ensure that inventory statistical and financial reports are accurate and in compliance. Ensure department database system (JD Edwards) and other related documentation is maintained as required by the organization and/or GAAP standards and methodology
* Prepare and review monthly accounting journal entries for standard cost of sales, standard cost variances, inter-company purchase order transfers, inventory transactions, daily cycle counts, etc., and summarize results for management
* Establish & maintain positive business relationships with internal and external customers to ensure effective & efficient coordination of services
* Provide support to team members and performs other duties as required
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required
* Related work experience a plus
* Proficient using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access & Email, required)
* General knowledge of accounting concepts, terminology, and practices
* Ability to learn and maintain user functional knowledge of the following departmental database systems such, AS400, JD Edwards, CAMs & Internet
