Mohawk Industries, a Fortune 300 manufacturer and distributor of floor covering products, is seeking a Co-Op to assist Engineers within our Extrusion plants and Yarn mills located in Dalton, GA. Through projects assigned by a mentor, the student will work towards improving efficiency of an extrusion process by using problem solving skills and current educational knowledge. You will be assigned tasks and make recommendations in the form of a final report and presentation at the end of the term.

You will be asked to
1. Identify, define, and measure improvement opportunities for assigned project(s).
2. Analyze and document improvement recommendations for project(s).
3. Prepare test reports and closing reports for all project(s).

You should have the ability to
1. Prepare and present a technical PowerPoint presentation that is informative and concise.
2. To perform basic calculations required for analyses of various types of equipment and systems utilized in manufacturing facilities.
3. Work proficiently with computers and applied software utilized in engineering related tasks such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and AutoCAD (preferred).
4. Communicate verbally and through writing skills technical information to both content experts and non-technical individuals.
5. Ability to perform as a successful and integral part of a team based engineering group.

Requirements:
* Industrial Engineering, Process, Industrial Management or Mechanical Engineering studies
* Excellent critical thinking skills
* Willingness to learn and participate in challenging tasks
* Must have reliable transportation as some projects will be located a different sites
